8th Grade Celebration

We will soon be celebrating the 8th graders' transition to high school!

Each year we celebrate the 8th graders with a mass and reception. Here are the details for this year’s events:

Tuesday, May 17

8:40 - Student Mass at St. Cecelia’s

We will save the pews on the front left side of the church (opposite side of the piano).  If you have other school aged students they may sit with you or stay with their classmates at mass, but are asked to return to class after mass. 8th graders can come directly to school and be bussed to mass or you can bring them directly to the Parish Center.

9:40 - Parish Center
We will have a reception and high school orientation following mass for parents and students. This is usually about 45-minutes long with pictures to follow.

What to Wear
This is a formal occasion so students are asked to dress accordingly. Girls are encouraged to wear dress slacks, jumpers, or dresses. We will be at mass, so please make sure that dress hems fall below the fingertips. The boys are encouraged to wear slacks and a polo or dress shirt. Some gentlemen wish to wear ties, but it is not required. (No shorts for boys or girls)

8th graders are dismissed for the year after this celebration. They do not come to school on May 18.
